Review "Libido" in Meaningless Void

‘Libido’ is the amazingly heavy HNW assault from Segment Aura, a more recent project out of Russian Federation, with only this release to show its presence in the wall noise scene I had almost missed this one in the recent flurry of releases that have come out at the end of last year. After what sounds like a metal pipe falling on a concrete floor the first track explodes into a massive flow of electrifying static in the most brutal form I have heard recently and not in the lulling low end rumbling style, but in a fast paced tightly compressed wall of bass. Following that is a sped up crackling style wall which borders on the blasting style due to its rapid pace while clearly maintaining those sputtering qualities of the slower paced walls that have pops and crunching textures. Ultimately the disc ends with a mid-paced wall consisting of humming and grinding textures in an unchanging fashion. The intensity of this release can only be experience and it left a lasting impression on me as it maintained the repetitive style of wall and really unique textures were used in ways that prove that no dynamic could be total dynamic.
